In our province in Tuburan a where there is abundance of springs.
The name Tuburan got its name after the Cebuano word tubod
seeker and nature lovers.
One of the attractions in our province is the Marmol cliff in barangay Marmol; it is because of its stones that look like a marbles. The water that flow of that cliff is very clear and it surrounds by huge trees that make it more beautiful. You can feel freshness of air and the quietness of the place that you can say to yourself how wonderful the world is.
But there is a story behind those beautiful things in Marmol Cliff, the people there believed that during the water would increase, there was a lady that would ride her huge boat and would took revenge to the people there.
The people named the lady as” Maria Tang-An”. Before Maria Tang-An was one of the resident of barangay Marmol, she was a good hearted lady and all the people their would ask for help with her. She never refuses any help came from other people. But the people abuses her kindness, when the time Maria Tang-An cannot give what they ask, they mistreated her.
So Maria Tang-An never entertained any help from other people, she hated the people their because they have no “depth of gratitude” with her. She believed before that if she do good things with others, she would be treated a true family with her co- barangay but she was wrong, it was in contrast on her view what was really the true meaning of a true family. So she moved to other place without any marks, without any information to the people where she would go. The people their believed that “Maria Tang-An” died because during that time the water in the cliff was so high and before you can proceed to next barangay you must surpass the cliff. They believed that the body of “Maria Tang-An” was there in the cliff and waiting for the next victim to make revenge to the people who abused her.
